I was watching the Alex Jones show the other day. If you don't know, Alex is considered to be the number one conspiracy theorist around today. He's pretty much the unofficial media head of the entire anti-UN, pro-Gun, liberty-fetish crowd. (All you Euro-types, I suggest you give his site a good reading. It's the core phobias driving the isolationist forces in the US, without the polish that a sane person would cover it with.) Anyways, during the show, they had a clip of Alex standing on the lawn of the state Capitol, surrounded by his crowd of followers. Two people held out a UN flag, and Alex took a knife and slashed it in half, to roaring applause. Combine that with the first two paragraphs of this article, and I'm beginning to see an opportunity for something potent... I think I'm going to start flying the UN flag. |

Well, not nessicarily flying it, as I don't have a flag pole on which to do that, but I think I'm going to start incorporating the symbol into my style. Think of it as a kind of Idiot Repellant. My entire life, I've been surrounded by the pro-gun lobby and their tactics of paranoia. From reading my father's copy of the NRA newsletter when I was in third grade to the rants getting posted this very day on K5, none if it's changed. The underlying theme is exactly the same: I want all the power and controll, having a gun will give that to me. Anyone who tries to take my guns away is attempting to turn me into a slave. It's so damn cliche it's sickening. The worst part is, it's working. Right now there's a whole generation of kids, raised on the internet, getting the over-exposure of the freedom fascits (who, coincidentally, are so popular with teenagers because they have the same maturity levels). Bah! Whatever. I'm tired and hungry and it's lunch time. Perhaps I'll have organized my thoughts and make some similar stands on K5, where I'll have to face the libertarian crowd head-on... |
