You, sir (or madam), have clearly not been paying attention. Such elongation of the phrase "what's up" has fallen from popularity and is now used only to add ironic subtext to a more lengthy greeting. Furthermore, it is impossible to prolong a plosive, so your extra P's on the end are crap.

You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted, then used against you.

If you check the fine print, it says that the Budweiser "wassup" still has some life left in it because it annoys some loser named yanni on Adequacy.

Are you happy now? Go back to playing that bad new age music that is mostly purchased to play over the loudspeakers at malls.

There are no grainy pictures of average-looking teenage girls pathetically pleading for attention on the diaries page, so I'd say things are looking up.

However, from a broader perspective, we are all most assuredly going to die and our once-precious earthly remains will rot, putrefy, turn to dust and eventually, even our tombstones (those of us lucky enough to get a decent burial -- not as common as it once was) will sooner or later wear away to sand and be blown to the winds. Those foolish enough to have made a meaningless gesture towards immortality through the sham of procreation will be forgotten by their descendents, sooner or later. Their memories will fade. Even their most distant descendent will die too some day, and be swallowed up by eterntity. What then?

NOTHING, I tell you. We are all rushing faster than we can even dream straight towards an utter void. There is no point to anything because it is all just a fraction of the tininest point of near-nothingness inside an ephmeral spark, flashing through the unspeakable vastness of a universe of such size and age that the sum total of every civilizaion on every planet on every star and ever re-born galaxy in the long cycle of folly is not worth even noticing.

If there were anyone there to notice. There isn't. There is nothing but a few specks of dust and rock drowned in an infinte ocean of empytness. Say hi to all that emptyness. It won's say hi back, so just accept it. We are less than nothing in a universe that amounts to less than nothing.

Nothing will come of nothing.

you won't be around to notice. you're dead. gone. ceased to be. no longer in existance.

It used to be people would make some effort to bury their dead in some sort of formalized way. But that's becoming more the exception than the rule. People just don't see the point in making the effort in these times of despair. I think everyone is coming to realize how hopeless it all is, and are naturally just giving up.

It just adds to the feeling of hopelessnes, but then so what? It makes no difference how hopeless we are, or how much we fool ourselves. The bleak result will be the same either way.

Stop being so fucking optimistic. What is this, the fucken Family Circus? Makes me sick to hear you pule, geez. Many, many a grinding mile of misery before we sleep. You haven't the guts to kill yourself early, neither have I, or certainly both your post and this reply would have been preempted before they ever got posted.

Still, always merry and bright! as Henry Miller had it. In the long run, guess you're right after all, things are definitely a go! Sleep, sleep, blessd sleep!

Perchance to dream, my ass! You and I know better. We have faith.

Yours J.A.

Well, let's see. Jin seems to be having fun. Elenchos is having kittens about it. Angst is having women troubles. dmg is posting old material taken from other sites for lack of anything creative or witty. osm seems to be his normal self (adjusting for sufficiently large values of "normal"). Opalhawk is still breathing. And I'm up to my elbows in dirty nappies.

However, seeing as you've graced us with your diary, I'd have to say that things are looking up. How can terrorists hope to destroy our spirit when you're still posting? They can't, I say. The day you keep quiet is the day I begin listening for trumpets in the sky.
