 Wicca FAQ

Awhile ago, I saw Scooby Doo and the Witch's Ghost on the Cartoon Network. Although it is a good movie, they did a terrible job of accurately representing the religious group known as Wicca. This is a terrible insult to the Wiccan community and all for which they stand. I have realized that many people have no idea of the true nature of Wicca. I hope to enlighten others to what has become the most popular alternative religion.

Wicca is an ancient religion.

Wrong. Wicca came into existence in the 60's during the rise of the feminist movement. Adopting its ideals from Lord of the Rings and Dungeons and Dragons, it was designed to be a politically correct religion by women, for women.

Wiccans are peaceful and loving people.

Wrong. Wiccans are peaceful toward other Wiccans and Satanists, but they are extremely hostile toward those who question their beliefs.

I know from experience that Wiccans are the most deceitful and pretentious people on Earth. One would be wiser to trust even the notorious Gypsies.

Wiccans can do magic.

Stop believing in fairy tales.

Wiccans do not believe they follow the one true religion.

That is a lie. They constantly state that there is a God and a Goddess, implying that the beliefs of Christians, stating that there is only one God, are wrong. Wiccans merely state that they do not believe their religion to be the one true religion because they are liars.

Wiccans are usually beautiful Gothic women.

The average Wiccan tends to be morbidly obese.

Wicca is not an organized religion.

Although Wicca likes to boast about its disorganization, it is clear to the intellectual that Wicca is indeed a very strict religion. To be a true Wiccan, one must follow the Wiccan Rede, which is a lengthy text describing the many traits one must adopt before she is a true Wiccan. To be a Christian, one must simply accept Jesus Christ as his/her Lord and Savior and live an honest Christian lifestyle. One can plainly see that Wicca demands more confirming to one standard than Christianity.

Hopefully now, the misinformation spreading of Wicca can cease and desist.

P.S. Isn't it funny how Sin in Final Fantasy X represents the Pagan God of Love?

This supposedly ancient religion requires as the first step to membership that you recite the Lord's Prayer backwards. This is because the truth about Wiccistism is that it is wholly defined in terms of Christianity. It exists solely as a reaction and protest against the Christian religion. At least, against the upper-middle-class suburban white Christianity that typical Wiccists carry such a lot of baggage about.

I don't think they are "morbidly" obese. Yes, they are for sure over-weight, but generally only about 30 to 50 pounds over, not the 100+ that would be seriously life-shortening. I think most Wiccans could look pretty good if they put down the mead and the turkey leg and the Dungeon Master's Guide, and headed for the old stairmaster.

You are absolutely right about the anti-Christian nature of "Wicca" -- one only needs to read the comment right before yours. I think it speaks for itself; it does more to discredit "Wicca" than anything a Christian evangelist might say.

Wrong. Wiccans are peaceful toward other Wiccans and Satanists, but they are extremely hostile toward those who question their beliefs.

Kind of like Christians

I know from experience that Wiccans are the most deceitful and pretentious people on Earth. One would be wiser to trust even the notorious Gypsies.

Nah, Protestant Christians are worse.

Wiccans merely state that they do not believe their religion to be the one true religion because they are liars.

Unlike Christians, Jews and Muslims who all think their religion is the right one. I simply state "I'm human, I don't know. I'll know when I die".

The average Wiccan tends to be morbidly obese

I've met a couple of really attractive ones. And they are always potrayed in teen movies as really hot chicks that fall in love with jocks.

Which Christianity are you referring to? Protestant, Catholic, or all the other little subdivisions? Every priest, minister, pastor, or Pat Robertson wannabe will tell you that you are not a true Christian unless you believe the bullshit coming out of their mouth.

P.S. Isn't it funny how Sin in Final Fantasy X represents the Pagan God of Love?

Thanks a lot asshole! I haven't played it yet. A nice chunk of my free time has been devoted to Lunar2: Eternal Blue Complete.

Wicca is useful! (5.00 / 1) (#4)

Please stop dissing Wicca!

Wicca is with me all the time, whether I'm down at the mall with my familiar shopping for clothes, or if I'm using my love charm bracelet on all the boys. Wicca teaches me to think for myself - for example, I don't read the junk horoscopes in the newspaper, I can make much better ones myself if I go to the woods and study the alignment of the celestial bodies!

Wicca is really useful for people like me. Please stay being a Christian - you can have your eternal afterlife and I can have my cool social life.

This is the best diary entry in quite a while I think. Thank you for the clarity of thought regarding the damnable wiccan religion, hopefully it will prevent any impressionable youths who might be reading from falling into their clutches.

Although I have no experience with those people I'm sure your comments are on the money as most cults operate in the same manner. To my knowledge there have never been any active wiccans in my neck of the woods, possibly because they would encounter the same reaction as that cult of jehovah's witnesses did a while back. There was a joke going around my church at the time:

Q: What do you get when you cross a jehovah's witness with a True Believer?
A: A gutshot jehovah's witness.

I don't recall it ever coming down to that but they were run off in a hurry. It will be the same if some wiccans ever start coming around peddling their bead crafts and smoking their pot, trying to corrupt our young people.
