She stood in the doorway, the ghost of a smile
Haunting her face like a cheap motel sign.
Her cold eyes imploring the men in their macs
For the gold in their bags or the knives in their backs.
Stepping up boldly one put out his hand.
He said, "I was just a child then, now I'm only a man."

"I'm the one who should be watered if you want me to grow"

(Natalie Portman as "Mathilda" in "Leon")

And I'm growing, by leaps and bounds... (5.00 / 1) (#11)

Leon: "You're right." [Grabs the squeeze-bottle and splashes Mathilda; she runs away, returning with a bucket full of water.]

Leon: "No..."

Mathilda: "Yes..."

I've got a bike (5.00 / 1) (#2)
by Weyland Yutani on Mon Sep 17th, 2001 at 02:33:05 AM PST
you can ride it if you like
it's got a basket
a bell that rings
and things to make it look good.
I'd give it to you if I could
but I borrowed it.

A place to sleep, enough to eat (5.00 / 1) (#3)

Somewhere old heroes walk in safety down the street
And you can speak out loud about your doubts and fears
And what's more; no one ever disappears
You never hear the standard issue kicking in your door
You can relax, on both sides of the tracks and maniacs
Don't blow holes in bandsmen by remote control
and everyone has recourse to the law
And no one kills the children anymore.
No one kills the children anymore.

You all disgust me. (5.00 / 1) (#4)

Hippies shouldn't be allowed to own computers.

That opinion alone (5.00 / 1) (#5)
by chloedancer on Mon Sep 17th, 2001 at 07:49:31 AM PST
made the entry entirely worthwhile.

"Hippie" I'm not. "Random quark in the universe," absolutely. I am whatever I need to be at any given moment, and it's all true.

wow yer deep. (5.00 / 1) (#6)

Can I be your follower?

An idea is not responsible (3.00 / 1) (#7)

for the people who believe in it, nor does every question deserve an answer.

I do offer this for consideration, however: In order to live free and happily, you must sacrifice boredom. It is not always an easy sacrifice. If I can serve even in the smallest as someone's antidote to boredom, my existence is affirmed.

Neat. (3.00 / 1) (#8)

Have you met Jin Wicked yet?

Nope. (3.00 / 1) (#9)

I don't think most of the natives here know what to make of me yet. I do not share the same history within the pixel salons as is true for most of the editorial gods & goddesses in this realm.

And to be yet another to take pleasure from annoying you in this manner. What you see is what you get. Cheers!

Perhaps this should be conveyed by email (5.00 / 1) (#14)

But it's more or less public knowledge.

At the next TrollCon, I will beat TheReverand until he can no longer stand. This has, of course, nothing to do with you.

You should listen to his band though. They're not half bad.

Are you adequate?

heh. (4.00 / 2) (#15)
by TheReverand on Mon Sep 17th, 2001 at 11:16:39 AM PST
It takes more than that to annoy me. First off, you have to be british.
