It started out as a bit of a rough night for me as I settled in to the couch, booze in one hand, remote control in the other. I flipped over to that bastion of wee AM entertainment, TBS - The Superstation, and was absolutely horrified to discover that they were showing a "romantic comedy"!

I stared in shock for a few moments, unsure of how to proceed. The cable network responsible for Movies for Guys who like Movies, The Man Made Movie, and an onscreen logo consisting of nothing but a continuous explosion had somehow scheduled a "chick flick". This did not sit well with me, but I found another television staple to keep me occupied.
Thankfully, at 2:30 AM, TBS returned to their senses and CHiPs (Woo-hoo! Check out that URL, folks!) came on. I instantly felt more at ease with the world as that 80's synth funk streamed from the speakers while Erik Estrada's inhuman grin filled my screen. Still, I couldn't help but feel a bit let down by TBS. Then, during the first commercial break, all was set right. Beginning next Sunday TBS will begin a new feature, titled "No Football, No Problem!" On February 10th we have the inaugural debut with both Chris Tucker and Charlie Sheen in Money Talks. I can only assume that this quality of programming will continue in the future. God bless America, and God bless TBS!
Thank you, and good night. |
