Linux Zealot goes to the Movies

 Author:  Topic:  Posted:
Jan 21, 2002
 Comments:
Linux Zealot likes to take a break from re-inventing the wheel by going to the movies.

While normal people are happy to watch just about anything, Linux Zealot sticks to movies that he is comfortable with. Linux Zealot enjoys the movies that the rest of us ignore, for example Hackers, Pirates of Silicon Valley, and The Net.

Linux Zealot is taking Linux Zealot Girlfriend to see The Lord of the Rings and is very excited by the use of free software to create the special effects in the movie. In this strip, Linux Zealot learns many important lessons, including the true value of so-called free software.

Your spelling is very poor. I suggest that you get an education. At whatever cost.

I might suggest that before giving spelling advice, you should brush up on your own English skills.

Hint #1: "At whatever cost." is not a complete sentence.

Hint #2: Unless there is a compelling stylistic or aesthetic reason to use sentence fragments, English is generally written using complete sentences.

..you had best look at your subject, which, by amazing ironic coincidence, happens to be a fragment. Also, I fail to see how sentence structure is a determining factor in whether someone can spell or not. I bid you the best of luck in your (soon to come) sputtering explanations.

You do in fact stink. It is a well known fact.

Face it, you (or should I say J00?) are a hacker (hax0r).

You use lunix every day. And you know Alan Cocks personally...need I say more.

I hope that you die quite frankly, and all your lunix loving homosexual brethren..

You call yourself the pinnacle of moral righteousness, but you hate people. By hating a person, you hate their soul. By hating their soul, you hate God's creation. By hating God's creation, you hate God. Congratulations. You just called yourself a heathen. Pat yourself on the back, hypocrite.

Roll up, roll up, for this once in a lifetime opportunity to partake in an exciting game that we like to call "ESR Hide'n'Seek". All you have to do is look at these three pictures, and tell us which one is Mr Eric Raymond...

Is it handsome Number One, who likes to spend time in front of his computer?

Or perhaps dashing Number Two who is renowned for his bravery and expertise in military matters?

Or maybe it's gorgeous Number Three who knows that the way to every woman's heart is with a macho moustache?

Do you know your Raymonds from your Rainmans? Can you spot the real ESR from this selection of likely lads? The choice is yours.

If Linux Zealot had gone to an earlier session it would have only cost NZ$11 each, saving him NZ$2.

Seeing as he only had NZ$10 in his account, he would only have to find NZ$1 to see the film on his own.

Regards,

Since when does Linux Zealot have a girlfriend? I thought Linux Zealot was a homosexual since people into "alternative operating systems" were into "alternative sexuality". Has he just not come out of the closet yet? Maybe that should be the next Linux Zealot cartoon.

You have omitted the greatest hacker film of them all: Swordfish. I am sure that I shall be joined in my protestation of this grievous omission by not only the tiny minority of people who are hackers, but by the great majority who enjoy high-speed car chases.

this cartoon portrays many impacting opinions. obviously you do not have your own opinion and you thought you'd fit in with the crowd* if you showed how wrong it is to be individual. great cartoon from a patriot of a great country. long live george w bush.

*for all those people who dont understand what im saying, to fit in with the crowd you need to have an opinion common to that of everybody else eg: christianism, racism, rejection of a new idea etc. When you fit in with the crowd you are slowly destroying your country.
