Blood thirsty Brits get on board

The UK loves war. We thrive on it. We have no national psychosis about it like the USA (Vietnam), Germany (1945), France (1940) or Italy (every war). We are used to being victorious and love to rub it into lesser mortals. We proudly sing 'Two world wars and world cup' at our international football matches.

Poll is: does the UK like war?

Maybe it's because war is the only thing that we seem to be good at these days. Germany and Japan are bigger economic powers, France has a more civilised social structure and the USA has replaced us as numero uno. We shrug our shoulders at casualties as they are the price we have to pay to be able to sup at the high table which isn't now justified on any other criterea.

The recent WTC atrocities are being used as an excuse for Britain to go on yet another colonial adventure, whilst introducing even stricters laws here at home.

I sometimes wonder if the UK is in fact an independant state any more, or if it is a puppet nation, controlled by the USA, and the Eurocrats in Brussels, and the unelected officials of the United Nations.

In the words of the Geto Boys poigniant track about the American atrocities in Iraq: "I ain't goin' to war for a shit talkin' president Fuck fuck fuck a war"

But we love any excuse to show off the 'professionalism' of our armed forces and show up our european rivals...ahem...friends as big pussies. Especially the French.

Also all postwar politicos in the UK want their 'Churchill' moment....

Not really - more like a massive inferiority complex making them afraid that if they don't play nice with the big guys, everyone will think they are insignificant.

Well I did say they acted out of sense of inferiority in terms of other countries. Mediocre postwar economic and social progress compared to the USA, Germany and France but hey we've got a pretty competent military and we're not afraid to use it (so long as the Yanks help out...).

The problem is that the ruling class in the UK has great power pretensions and sucking up to the Americans and being their bestest mate in the world maintains this illusion and gives us access to goodies like cruise missiles, satelite intelligence and Trident nuclear missiles. But then that means that our foreign policy is even more closely aligned with the US than Canada even...
