An announcement
I just realized that my Russian friend hasn't been here in days. This makes me very worried, as only a few weeks ago we were wondering if he ever actually left this site.

Has anyone heard anything? Now I'm getting worried. He could be lying dead in his apartment, with the cat licking the open wounds on his head, and no one would know until the smell became unbearable upstairs. Somebody please reassure me that he's only over at one of those other sites, torturing the locals. Then I'll feel better.

Of course, I might feel better if I just went to bed and slept off this wicked awesome buzz.

Cut that out! You'll get my hopes up, only to dash them cruelly when he shows up again.

That's very wicked of you. I admire that in a woman.

HA has already expressed a visceral contempt for potheads. not to mention unemployed, oprah-watching, bon-bon-eating housewife pothead pseudo-philosophers such as yourself.

but every time I read the word "pothead" I thought "potato head".

This somehow worries me.

I am not who you think I am.

The recent influx of LSD-using teen hackers has left us all in a somehwat disturbed state.

Thanks for defending me once again, good sir knight. Although I think I can handle myself against the Fish...it's those pesky ARs I often need help with...

I also miss tkatchev. (none / 0) (#2)

I think he just wanted to remind us how much we needed him. It was just getting to the point where I was getting sick of his overuse of the word "liberalist." I was on the verge of telling him off. But then he disappeared, and I realized how big of a whole he left.

Tkatchev, please come back!

The descriptive scenario inspired by your state of worry was familiar, indeed.

Gotta say one thing about tkatchev -- he does acerbic just right (and I mean that in the best possible way).

Not to label my entire gender recklessly or anything, but is excessive worrying a woman thing? None of the guys I know indulge in it, and most of the girls I know admit to it at least occasionally.

It couldn't have been the alcohol either, since booze generally has the opposite effect on me.

I'm not certain about the gender factor (none / 0) (#9)

'cause my Dad (a former officer/he-man/physicist) is the undisputed master in my family when it comes to the "dead in a ditch" vivid imagination thing (my Mom was the practical, grounded, deal-with-the-matter-at-hand-and-get-on-with-life type -- she was the fearless one, really). I was thinking more along the lines of a "six degrees of separation" scenario. ;)

Two events: tkatchev's disappearance, the butchering of SpaceGhoti's signature. Coincidence?

For though he is adamant in his refusal to join the True Church, he is Godly and learned, which makes his hubris even more painful.

Hurry back, tkatchev, you are missed.

I think we should at least consider the astonishing possibility that he might have left without a whiny diary entry detailing his reasons.

That is the most comforting thing I've heard all day, Slave. Now I'll be able to sleep peacefully tonight, even without the aid of a half-bottle of Marechal.
