What a boring day today. I spent about 4 hours working out my initial prediction for the first round of the 2002 NFL draft.

I had:
Julius Peppers DE
John Henderson DT
Bryant McKinnie LT
going to the Texans, Lions, and Panthers. That order shouldn't change but I'm not sure if it will if the Lions and Panthers win one game each.

Other Notables

Quentin Jammer going to Indy (7th)
Marquis Walker, first WR of 4 going to Dallas (8th)
TJ Duckett going ahead of Foster to Cleveland (19th)
And for the two quarterbacks: Carr to Washington (18th) and Harrington to Chicago (28th)

Had a lot of trouble placing underclassmen due to the lack of exposure for most of them. Except Duckett who I'm a big fan of.

The obvious questions:

  • Is DE the right thing for an expansion team to build ateam around? People seem to think so, but I think Henderson might be a better first pick than Peppers, who I haven't seen play.
  • How high does Carr go? Would the Giants take him, or do they stick with the mediocre Kerry Collins. No way Dallas drafts a QB. Right?
  • Where do the Packers and Steelers need help? What about Denver?
  • And just for fun, who gets to be the Rams pick and hitch a ride on the tail end of back to back Superbowls? Perhaps they could add another linebacker?
