A poem for you all -- Mark II
A philosopher went into a closet for ten years to contemplate the question, What is life? When he came out, he went into the street and met an old colleague, who asked him where in heaven's name he had been all those years.

"In a closet," he repied. "I wanted to know what life really is."

"And have you found an answer?"

"Yes," he replied. "I think it can best be expressed by saying that life is like a bridge."

"That's all well and good," replied the colleage, "but can you be a little more explicit? Can you tell me how life is like a bridge?"

"Oh," replied the philosopher after some thought, "maybe you're right; perhaps life is not like a bridge."

How can life be like a bridge... is there a river under the bridge? What type of bridge is it? Is it a strong bridge? Am I asking to many questions? Who are you? Who are they? What are they saying about me? Who knows me? Do they like me? Who's sleeping with my girl friend? Are those ninja's on the lawn?

On one side is the purity of pre-birth innocence, on the other, the pure bliss of an eternity with the One God, Allah. Beneath each bridge gush the deadly rapids of sinfulness.

Some bridges are more rickety than others, some sway dangerously. Others are sturdy edifices, keeping the crosser safe and dry. These are the bridges that wisely engineered and solidly constructed. You can wisely engineer and solidly construct your own path to eternal bliss by strudying koran with a mullah wise in the proper teaching of Islam.

Take care that your bridge does not pitch you head-over-heels into the frigid, onrushing torrent of sin, for you will be sucked under into the icy depths of hell, never to emerge!

...from the Babbling Philosophers? Life is like a bridge? (What bridge? A steel one? A stone one? A Wheatstone one? Or maybe the author meant the card game?)

As far, philosophy is turning to be a mostly dysfunctional attempt to introduce absolute concepts to principially relative system. Instead of honestly admit the relativity of the general framework of the Reality, and THEN postulate constant values for their selected variables, the Babbling Philosophers play with wording, then argue about subtleties, not unlike lawyers.

Philosophers should be barred from using any language that wasn't developed for describing entities and their relationships in strictly logical fashion.

However, this approach would have an obvious "disadvantage" - the deficiencies of their pet theses would float atop and become obvious on the first glance of even an untrained eye.

PS: CancelbotSlave, I'm back.
