An interresting diary posted a few days ago concluded that Adequacy needs "a fuck load less geeks". Obviously, the recent Mandrake article is an attempt to implement a geek filter as suggested by otak in that diary (although in a slightly altered form).

Amazing that so many people fell for it.

...I found a slight mistake by a certain Adequacy admin. While a netcraft query on www.adequacy.org is rightfully refused, a clever and resourceful person might instead try adequacy.org, which will reveal the ugly truth. This must be corrected immediately!

Of course noone commenting in the story was that clever, but who knows, even a script kiddie might suddenly show some unexpected creativity.

The netcraft thing was something they opposed on us, not something we asked them to do.
