 Execution of the masses.

Here are Adequacy, I take a enthralling joy at scrolling through those informative, enlightening articles. I also partake in great pleasure at laughing at the sheer ignorance of each and every article.

If people seriously believe anything they submit in those stories, there is something severely wrong in their perspective of the Universe.

99% of everything I have read on Adequacy is bullshit. Pure, farm-fresh bullshit. From your mishapen views on marijuana, to their zealotous Christian and Catholic psychobabble. Though many replies and comments to these "News" articles is filled with REAL enlightenment and factual information, some of those Commentors may have been bred in the same Retard Ranch as the original Authors.

The authors are an odd sort of mutant feminists, who now bitch and moan about "controversial" subjects, which only the purely ignorant cannot see the obvious or correct answer.

Then...Oh yes, this makes me want to destroy my computer. People who victimize the "children." It is the apparent view of society that if the "children" are made out as a victim, then you must be right, and the opinion you so wrongly butcher is of the bowels of your non-existent Hell.

Also, you people seem to have no concept whatsoever of the computing world. This is clearly evident in the numerous "Linux Users Have Poor Hygeine" and "You Son Uses A Computer, and Thusly Is Hacking, Looking At Porn, or Doing Something Illegal. Shoot Him Now."

As to the point of this mindless rant into the ignorance of the Adequacy news submitters, they are perhaps among the stupidest people on the face of the planet, sharing rank with Christians and God for the title of Supreme Idiot.

And this all comes around to the title, "Execution of the Masses." Seemingly enough, the masses of the internet is occupied by the ignorant and stupid. Thusly, execution by some equally cruel and creative means is in order for them.

Order of the Day: Kill yourself and your stupid friends.

...And Weezmacht gave you Truth, and it was good.

I also partake in great pleasure at laughing at the sheer ignorance of each and every article.

Laughter is a well known defense mechanism that people resort to when confronted with uncomfortable truths. They aim to try and blot out the facts that do not coincide with their worldview. However, ridiculing an opinion does not render it any less true.

For example, the Wright Brothers were pilloried in the US press who claimed they were lying crackpots even several months after they had flown a heavier-than-air machine at Kitty Hawk.

As to the point of this mindless rant into the ignorance of the Adequacy news submitters, they are perhaps among the stupidest people on the face of the planet, sharing rank with Christians and God for the title of Supreme Idiot.

Please take your mindless insulting blasphemy elsewhere. Adequacy has several Christians amongst its editors and readers, I'll leave it to them to correct the rest of your nasty little rant.

Tkatchev Wept (5.00 / 1) (#3)
by Anonymous Reader on Fri Mar 8th, 2002 at 10:08:50 PM PST
I lost a lot of sleep too, when I first found this site. It was only later, when I learned more about it, that my worries finally ended.

The contents of this site are created almost entirely by one man: tkatchev. You may see tkatchev posting as himself on every diary and every story, and think, man that guy is really interested in this site.... but you would be wildly underestimating his abilities. In fact most of the comments, stories, and diaries here are all written by tkatchev under his aliases. The truth is that 90% of the users here are actually fake accounts created by tkatchev. Even the editors are all the various multiple personalities of tkatchev. The site itself is run by tkatchev off his home computer. tkatchev argues with himself, calling himself a liberalist under one name and then insulting himself right back as a lousy russian dog using yet another name. Now that I think about it your diary is probably written by tkatchev as well.

Sometimes I wonder if Russia is really so boring that the only thing tkatchev can do is sit on his computer all day and post messages to himself under different names. But in the long run, it is beneficial to us all. How else would we be able to have such an intimate portrait of one man's mind? Sit back and enjoy the show.

(just joking, I think)

...the amount of effort that goes into posting here. I'm posting during the few seconds of free time I have inbetween compiling my gradschool project.

Besides, you're probably just jealous because unlike you uncivilized slobs, I have a real internet connection. (Hint: DSL and ISDN isn't real internet.)

I object to this. The only truly internet-optimized platform is AOL running on the Microsoft Windows Xp operating system. And you can access AOL through DSL and ISDN connections, although the standard dial-up access offers more than enough bandwidth for the average user.

I was afraid that someone would fail to point this out.
It's disheartening to see that many, in their zeal, forget the very truths of our existence.

Bandwidth vs. download speed (none / 0) (#17)
by tkatchev on Sun Mar 10th, 2002 at 12:25:13 AM PST
Just because you have a huge amount of bandwidth doesn't mean you have fast download speeds -- in fact, bandwidth only matters if you want to serve web content off of your computer in really large quantites.

AOL consistently has the fastest download speeds of any dial-up provider, because of the advanced caching system their large storage and network infrastructure enables. Also, most of the content which the average user needs is available directly from AOL's servers, in a proprietary format optimized for delivery over a dial-up connection.

Legality (none / 0) (#10)
by Anonymous Reader on Sat Mar 9th, 2002 at 05:36:32 AM PST
I would like to call attention to the legally and morally questionable:

Order of the Day: Kill yourself and your stupid friends.

While I am certainly an advocate of letting ignorant people seal their own fate, maybe an editor could soften this up a bit, if only because this person appears to be a relatively new visitor to Adequacy, if not the Internet itself.

Failing that, if anyone here kills himself or herself (or any friends for that matter), the author of this diary can expect to be held responsible by the victim's family, I do not doubt.

Translation: "I am the smartest and most self-satisfied person I know, so it gives me great pleasure to look down from my lofty perch at the Great Unwashed. I love watching them try to sort out things for themselves, then laughing to myself, knowing I am the only one with knowledge of The Truth. Of course, when they say things that don't fit in with my world view, but that I can't really intelligently debate, I just post sneering, self-serving diary entries."

Did I get it wrong? If so, please enlighten me, oh great one. I await the scraps of your knowledge with barely contained enthusiasm.

(Yawn.)

Hardly. The stock expression is "condescending little shit", but I don't think you qualify as "little" any more. Turns out that my word-choice is more than adequate.

I'll take it as read that you were being ironic when you sneered at Weezmacht, accusing him of ignorance, and of sneering at ignorant plebs. But your overblown sarcasm annoyed me.

Fair enough. Weezmacht's diary entry annoyed me, so I tossed off a sneering, ironic reply. I guess now we're even.

I hope you don't continue to think of me as a bitch. Most of the time I try to be fair in making comments, but every now and then something makes me see red and I post in anger or annoyance.

Goes to show how much I have to learn about acceptance and humility, huh.

As if. Sometimes I get cross at your diametrically-opposed opinions on spirituality and theology, but I cope by reminding myself that people having differing opinions isn't the end of the world.

Keep up the good work.

I am married to an atheist, so we get lots of practice in living with diametrically opposed opinions just about every day.

My spirituality and theology are still in flux right now, so don't be surprised if you're cross at me for a different reason next month.

seriously believe (redundant.)
if people believe...their perspective of the universe (It would be better to say "People who believe,..." and to replace "perspective of the universe" with something less vacuous - pardon my pun.)
From your mishapen [sic]...to their zealotous [sic]
many replies and comments....is filled
"controversial" subjects, which only the purely ignorant cannot see the obvious or correct answer (how does one see the answer to a subject?)
It is the apparent view of society (ambiguity of 'view,' and it's not clear to whom 'apparen[ce]' refers.)

I'd do more but I'm bored now. Hope this helps.

All best,

"Serously believe". (none / 0) (#24)
by tkatchev on Sun Mar 10th, 2002 at 10:17:19 PM PST
What's wrong with "seriously believe"? In my opinion, that's a fairly standard colloquial construction. "Seriously" here is simply a modifier that indicates the intensity of faith; phrases such as "a seriously large racoon"[1], for example, are common.

[1] "Seriously" here is being used much in the same way as the word "pretty".
