Just when we thought the world was safe again, those war-like Brits are at it again. According to the BBC news they are planning to embark upon thermonuclear war.

Is this a new form of British Imperialism, or something new? Hopefully a peace-loving nation will step up and crush them before they can do any real damage. First it was the French, and now this! Common sense dictates that European nations should be barred from owning nuclear weapons. It would be a first important step towards world peace.

If it wasn't for us war-like Brits (3.00 / 2) (#2)

If it wasn't for our love of combat, the American army would still be getting its arse spanked over in Afghanistan. Fortunately, 1,700 of Britain's finest soldiers are prepared to risk their lives to defend world peace and prevent the cowardly and inept American army being involved in another embarrassing conflict like Vietnam.

The Americans should be thanking their lucky stars that they have so much assistance in this latest regional conflict. Without the guidance of the Kiwis, the experience of the Canucks, and the courage of the Brits... the Americans would again be handed a massive defeat.

It's hypocritical for someone from a country that has used nuclear weapons in anger to criticise another country's administration for suggesting the mere possibility of their use.

Your vision of a peace-loveing US. It doesn't involve nuking the hell out of any country that daren't follow the USian "example", does it?

You make an incorrect assumption, sir (3.00 / 2) (#8)

I'm from a noble country where the phrase "peace, order and good government" isn't just an empty motto, but a way of life.

But that post was kind of in the "It's everyone else's fault but the US'" vein. I hope I never insult any non-USians by assuming they're from that uptight land again.

Canada isn't adverse to spreading atomic bombs about.

The activity also has the added benefit of removing troublesome groups.

did the U.S. use its atomic bombs 'in anger'? I mean, it's not like it was a drive-by shooting or a knife fight over a woman or some such.

I mean, that the US actually used nuclear weapons.
