Normally the LA Times is a third-rate paper, but Roger Kaufman's guest column in yesterday's edition was breathtaking, possibly even adequate.

Selected quotes:
It is no accident that Lucas and his most obvious gay character, Jar Jar Binks, have been so pummeled in the press, in ways that could be seen to parallel Wilde's public humiliation upon the discovery of his homosexuality...

... When Padme tells Anakin that "I truly, deeply love you," they are immediately greeted by an arena full of jeering sentient insects, another Lucas tip-off to viewers about his true intent...

I've suspected Lucas was an anti-God homosexual (none / 0) (#1)

he takes an inordinate amount of time making fun of Latinos and their large families in the Jangle Fett scenes, he's never married, and he has no ear or pacing for a heterosexual romance. It seems that Amidala only becomes interested in Anakin after his act of violence, which is all to typical of a homosexual union, fraught with violence and danger.

All hetersexuality is toxic in Lucasism. (5.00 / 1) (#2)

Starting with the death of Luke's foster parents, and then following his incestuous relationship with his twin sister, his sick freak father and dead mother (suicide?), and the thinly-veiled partner abuse implied by the bad-boy Han Solo and the slumming rich girl Leia, every attempt by man and woman to form a traditional union is doomed. In contrast, the Jesuit-like gay brotherhood of the Jedi is made of bonds that last, even after death. The man-boy adulation of the student-teacher relationships (Luke/Obi Wan, Anikin/Obi Wan -- quite a successful chicken hawk that Obi Wan is! -- Obi Wan/Mace, Obi Wan/Yoda, etc.), is stronger than family, than love of woman, stronger than anything.

The Force is gay pride. The Dark Side is procreative love. And those seas of white storm troopers are little sperm.

The "Force". (5.00 / 1) (#3)

Actually, the "Force" is simply thinly-veiled symbolism for the Global Masonic Conspiracy. (Which which might imply homosexual relations, I don't deny it.)

You people are the reason this coutry (The US) is ignorant. You read way to into this great Science Fiction movie and novel. Perhaps you all need to wake up out of your racist, sexist, and homosexual-hating realm.

Doesn't Lucas have a bio-logical daughter?

But lots of gay people do.
