I've been reading this site for quiet a while now but some how never managed to register. But I guess I like this place enough after all. I mean, where else on the net you can find as much [Truth] as here?! Exactly: nowhere

I'm about to piss of roughly half of the local community but I couldn't care less anyway.

I'm a female, I have short hair and I'm computing science student. Yes, a programmer. I'm also alone of those who been "sent away to university" I can't tell if it's a good thing or not. My musical taste revolves around Rock and Goth music with occasionally pop but not mainstream anyway. Oh, yeah I'm also an anime fan. And since I was born and lived for 14 years in Ukraine...I'm a Christian Orthodox raised in Soviet Union by Atheist parents.

*bitch mode on* That means even though I do believe in God. I don't believe in the single word of the bible. I mean the bible (small letter) we all use is not the word of god. It's not original. It's a modified , translated version for something that might not have been the real thing in the first place. So the only thing I'll believe is the original Bible (capital letter). Written in Hebrew/Arameic/Latin (I think), By Iegova Himself! And that must be proven.

Otherwise, don't even start with me. I question everything and everyone. I will not believe a single thing unless there is unconditional, unquestionable SCIENTIFIC proof. So bring it on.

*bitch mode off*

P. S. Yes I do rolepaly, I used to at least. It's fun and it makes it easier to interact with people in general, not only online. And I honestly don't understand why people are so concerned with roleplaying?! Would somebody be kind and explain that to me?

P. P. S. So how many people exactly does my presence here pisses off?

Your spelling and grammar is poor, you claim to believe the Bible but you don't even know what language it was written in, you feel an unjustified need to introduce yourself, and you have such a huge perception of your self-importance that you expect people to have an emotional reaction to your existance.

I think you're at the wrong site

by NoNo on Wed May 8th, 2002 at 09:51:09 PM PST
a) My grammar is probably better then yours, there is no spelling mistakes, it's just the way I write. English is not my native language.

b) Learn to read: I said I _DO NOT_ believe in bible. just God. And from my perspective it was written in Old Russian (since I'm Orthodox)

c) Yes I have a "huge perception " of my self-importance. And if you don't like it, you can _shove it_!

Your grammar... (none / 0) (#8)
by Anonymous Reader on Thu May 9th, 2002 at 01:23:29 AM PST
Is acceptable, if English is in fact not your native language. Adequacy is populated by grammar nazis, but most of them understand when English is not your mother tongue.

However, I do believe that your perception of self-importance is unwarranted. It shows a lack of character and an overcompensation for some key missing element in your personality.

I believe I will shove off, and ignore everything that you post.

Good day.

Why is it that non-native English speakers always whine when someone points out their grammatical errors? They always point out that English is not their first language.

No one cares.

This is akin to running over little kids in a school zone and using the excuse that you learned to ride a motorcycle first. Learn English, please.

Umm... OK (none / 0) (#30)
by Anonymous Reader on Thu May 9th, 2002 at 03:01:03 PM PST
I seriously doubt that the Orthodox church disputes what languages the Bible was written in, but you are certainly entitled to whatever bizarre non-sensical beliefs you wish to subscribe to. Your diary, muddled as it is, appears to state that you do believe the Bible, but only in the original language. This seems strange considering you don't know (or can't decide) what language that is.

Regardless, I do find it interesting that you believe things only with scientific proof, but also believe in God. I would very much like to hear your scientific proof of God, as it would help to settle a number of long-lasting debates around here.

Thanks,

I've worked with a number of Ukrainians (displaced during WW2) and they all had an exagerated belief in their own importance, particularly in relation to their Polish coworkers. The only thing the two groups had in common was their hatred of Jews and Latvians.

second. We do not hate Jews and Latvians. We despise them. And the rest of the population of non-European origin. Mostly due to you lack of manners.

and third: you making a generalization here. It's just like me saying all Americans are uneducated bad mannered pigs. Some are, but not all. Same with Ukrainians.

Yes and no. (5.00 / 1) (#17)
by Anonymous Reader on Thu May 9th, 2002 at 10:26:17 AM PST
In Japan, people described by others as "otaku" might be obsessed with anything-- ferrets, jazz, aquariums, whatever. The word is slightly pejorative, analagous to "nerd" or pehaps more accurately "bore" in English. But you already knew that.

The people who most consistently fail to understand this are western twits who have a pressing need to cloak their partiality to cartoons with boobies in them under "exotic" terminology and laughable claims of "maturity." These are the only people who refer to themselves as "otaku."

I know (5.00 / 1) (#20)
by NoNo on Thu May 9th, 2002 at 01:08:24 PM PST
I know. However in "westernized" meaning of that word Otaku is somebody who's a fan of anime/manga. And that's the meaning I intended.

Wrong. (none / 0) (#25)
by Anonymous Reader on Thu May 9th, 2002 at 01:24:39 PM PST
I'm western, and to me and most other westerners, "otaku" is a Japanese word that means "bore" or "nerd."

It is only cartoon-breast fetishists who want the "westernized meaning" of "otaku" to be "Anime Fan." The fact that this is an insult to Japanese culture and language is not of the least concern to these emotionally stunted pornography apologists.

I fully agree. (5.00 / 1) (#37)
by because it isnt on Thu May 9th, 2002 at 04:12:47 PM PST
These Westerners are an affront to Japanese culture. Breast fetishes are ultra-western. No self-respecting Japanese pervert would be interested in breasts, unless they were a shrunken schoolgirl's breasts being mutilated by giant robot tentacles. Japanese fetishism chiefly consists of feet, platform boots, kogaru-sex, seifuku, koonago and, obviously, robots and tentacles.

It is obvious that not only are these Westerners so desperate that they have to cross the world to get their fix of porn, but they are extremely narrow-minded. It is very rude of them to ignore the main features of another culture's porn in order to fixate on their own perversions.

Well, at time of my posting, if I count up the number of My Online Buddies plus the number of Anonymous Readers, then allow for the fact that a few may not have a view either way (and that the counter "is none too reliable") ... ooh, about 650 people, I'd say.

Yes, and it's called: product of western mass media. And no, I do not have a "religious chip" I just don't care. But since people here can't tolerate anybody's beliefs if they are not like their own...why not write something like that?

yes cartoon loving, yes self-obsessed. but aren't all females are like that nowdays?? We have to be like that in order to fit in into modern society. People expect females to be like that. Don't you?

Umm... (none / 0) (#43)
by hauntedattics on Fri May 10th, 2002 at 05:07:10 AM PST
People here quite willingly tolerate beliefs that are not like their own. They just take it upon themselves to question those beliefs, sometimes stringently. Tolerance is not necessarily the highest of virtues, you know.

As for all females being cartoon-loving and self-obsessed, I'd have to disagree, being neither. And I don't expect all my fellow XX'ers to be that way either.

Actually, I'm totally and completely obsessed with someone else right now. It's an amazing feeling. You should try it.

I don't trust the liberalist science-ophiles who, for example, can't tell me what "truth by convention" is or can't explain the "paradoxes" of confirmation.

Not to sound elitist, but without a proper philosophical background, bold assertions only illustrate silliness.

Which is why I try not to say much. I can discuss this further in a few years, when I actually know something*.
