Whatever it is you believe, I assure you you there is something you can learn here. And you may not like it, though I can't tell for sure.

Update [2001-7-10 17:5:45 by elby]: Edited for clarity and content.

Pet owners are vile, disgusting pigs. Linux is for maladjusted freaks. Video games turn kids into killers, and, in some cases, plumbers. White middle class men and corporations are the purest evil that exists.

These are all claims that have been made on this site. Truly my eyes have been opened to opinions I had never though of before. Much of it has been far more level headed and reasoned than anything I've contributed to the site.

Why is it that we, as humans, and especially as internet users, find the need to express out viewpoints so vehemently that there is no room for debate? Why is it that we have such a drive to arrive at an answer, and when one is arrived at, we defend it so firmly that any challenge to it is blasphemous and any alternative is wrong? It truly is time for a site like adequacy.org

Thank you.

That was insightful. I never would have read all that into my own words.

You're a freaking dick, elby. Meet me in your irc channel at midnight and we'll talk about this like men.

in Eastern Standard Time. Since you like to post things in my name i'm surprised you didn't just look it up in my profile.

It isn't all as bad as you might think. I am sure we will come to a reasonable understanding. It is complicated to explain however; IRC is really best for this sort of thing.

♥, bc.

i hope so... (none / 0) (#11)

...and may i add, you seem alot more reasonable and alot less facist than your compatriot.

Because, erm, he is a bit of a fascist. OTOH, there is a reason for this and we shall tell you (it is a little complex).

Alright then, i look forward to it.

btw, elby, this isn't some lame attempt to troll the trolls. I, unlike yourself apparently, have never been a troll until tonight. You've brought it out in me.

"first post"? (none / 0) (#15)
by elby on Tue Jul 10th, 2001 at 06:11:36 PM PST
However, I'm a bit confused, you say you're not trying to troll us, then go on to say we've brought out the troll in you. (sort of like a frosted flakes commercial.)

Which is it? You're not talking about your "first post" comment that we deleted are you?

The "first post" comment was a response to the fact that you deleted my original comment, which was quite legitimate. I did not start out trying to troll, I simply had a legitimate concern and posted a comment about it. You're the one who started the assholery, not me.

More on your being an asshole tonight on irc.

As an act of good faith and as a means to continue having this discussion I'm going to re-enable your account as long as you don't go and do anything destructive.

This is hilarious. I hope this isn't one of those lame attempts at "lets go troll the 'trolls'" because I can guarantee you I'm having at least as much fun as you are.

if you're upset about the diary entry, you could just ask me to delete it. Unless of course you'd rather just have something to be upset about, in which case by all means don't ask.

Through skillful maneuvering and political marraiges, we will finally lay this war to rest!

When the site is the troll, the troll is the truth.

They got all conciliatory and a tense "peace" of sorts seems to have resulted. For now, at least. Pretty damn disgusting if you ask me.
