Hm, let's see what we can glean from the headlines. That should get you started.

What is it about? (5.00 / 2) (#2)

What is life about? This is what you are asking, yes? The wheatfields at harvest time, the fruit of the orchard hanging heavy on the boughs of the trees. The wails of a squalling newborn, silenced by a mother's touch. A lone cat prowling an alleyway, summertime in Harlem, seeking spoiled food in overturned trashcans, chasing fat city rats across busy streets. The seasons changing, the falling Autumn leaves, more vibrant and simple than your citydwelling friends. A cigarette shared in wartime: Adversity, endurance, friendship and humanity. The tenderness of young lovers, touching for the first time. She has known him forever, he has only just met her. Birth, love, death. Are these not the most beautiful and terrible realities, entwining endlessly like the boughs of the fruit trees, like the limbs of young lovers? We are here to drain the cup of life, my friend. Life, passion, ah!

I will speak more plainly. Innocence and ageless wisdom. The terrible knowledge of a child, when he stirs from his sleep, to see the first rays of dawn streak the sky red. When he pauses at the riverside to see the stone bridge reflected in the still waters. When consciousness fades again at night's embrace. Who can own the last thoughts of a child's day, before sleep takes him?

If you ask 21 different Editors you'll get 21 different answers. They all agree that the site is about controversy, but they disagree about what constitutes it. There is therefore no good description for this site, other than the trite television stick: "hilarity ensues."

I wish I could give you a better answer, but there just isn't one.
